2022 Veterans Stand Down , career fair, benefits expo

 

The  VETERANS STAND DOWN EVENT is a convenient way to provide needed  resources to Veterans experiencing the housing crisis first hand.
 

We invite you to join us on November 11-12th in TACOMA WA at the USAVET.ORG'S VETERAN RESOURCE CENTER, Located at 12605 Pacific Ave S, Tacoma, WA 98444 to connect with Local Veterans as we gather resources from various  local and national organizations, corporations and local WA State small  businesses organized in one location to provide an immediate impact  prior to the upcoming winter season.

 
         

WHO:   American Military Families – Action Network invites you to participate  

WHAT:    2nd Annual Veterans Stand Down Event to End Veteran Homelessness.  

WHEN:    Veterans Day Weekend, Friday & Saturday / November 11-12, 2022.  

TIME:  10a-4p.  

WHERE:  USAVET.org’s Veterans Resource Center located at  

                12605 Pacific Ave S, Tacoma, WA 98444.  


The GOAL: To End Veterans Homelessness  


 

The  2022 Veterans Stand Down Event is a convenient way to provide needed  resources to veterans experiencing the housing crisis firsthand. Pierce  County is home to the state's largest veteran population. This event  provides an opportunity for all of us to come together to provide an  immediate community impact to our unhoused veterans prior to the  upcoming winter season. 


This in-person community outreach event will take place November 11-12th,  2022. The event will feature more than 20 local and regional veterans  serving entities. The Veterans Administration will be present as well as  various other Federal, State, County and City agencies, Local  non-profits and national organizations, corporations, and small  businesses as we come together to deploy much needed resources directly  into the community. 


Stand Downs are typically one- to three-day events  during which organizations, staff and volunteers will provide food,  clothing, and health screenings for unhoused, homeless, and at-risk  Veterans.  Veterans  will also have the opportunity to receive referrals for healthcare,  housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health  counseling and other essential services. 


Event organizers are strongly  encouraging and extending an invitation to all veterans that you may be  providing outreach services to attend the event. Veterans that are  currently unhoused or experiencing homelessness, job loss, or at risk of  losing their housing, to attend the Stand Down Event.  


Vendor  Spaces are filling up quickly, there is no charge for Vendor booth  space, if your organization is providing or offering FREE services to  veterans. RSVP by email to Liam@usavet.org
 

The due date for RSVP is OCT 14. 2022 at noon, 1200 Hrs.

Your time volunteering is always appreciated as well any other types of  financial or in-kind Contributions are always welcomed and recognized as  a blessing,  as well as a tax free donation under section 501(c)(3) of  the Internal Revenue Code .

2022 VETERANS STAND DOWN EVENT PROTOCOLS

 The  Covid protocols for the event will strictly comply with all pandemic   protocols as recommended by the Tacoma Pierce County Regional Health   Department .  Covid protocols set forth by the Governor and  State and local municipalities will be followed.
